Region 17 Migrant Education Program assists in the coordination of health care services for migratory students. We strongly believe students who are healthy emotionally, physically, and mentally are more likely to reach their full potential.
Quality health care requires the collaboration and interaction of many agencies. Some of the key partners and agencies include school districts, regional migrant offices, community agencies/clinics, and county health departments.
Self-pride and social emotional development are a part of the work that we do. Health workshops and training are provided to parents and students that support mental health. The Migrant Education Program supports families and students to have healthy relationships, attitudes, and behaviors. These presentations also provide strategies that can be used to make healthier and safer choices regarding health and emotional well-being.
