California Schools Information Services and the CSIS Data Governance Academy present Demystifying Data Governance for busy leaders!

In this final Data Governance Academy session, we will examine the real-world challenges LEAs and COEs across California encounter as they work towards operationalizing data governance. Drawing on statewide experiences, we will explore common barriers related to staffing, systems, leadership alignment, and organizational data culture. We'll cover practical, actionable initiatives that agencies can use to launch, strengthen, or accelerate their local data governance efforts. For each initiative, we will highlight the essential documentation and artifacts needed to support sustainable implementation. Recognizing the diversity of agency size and capacity across the state, we will examine differentiated strategies for small, medium, and large LEAs, ensuring participants leave with scalable approaches that align to their local context.

This is an in-person watch party event. The Ventura County Office of Education will join alongside our district and charter partners to learn and provide assistance.
