The Ventura County Office of Education operates Dorothy Boswell School located in the city of Ventura. The post-secondary site serves students, ages 18-22, with multiple abilities from Ventura, Ojai, and Santa Paula school districts. The instructional program at Dorothy Boswell School specifically addresses the following domains: functional academics, social/ communication, emotional/behavioral functioning, self-determination, career and vocation, community access/travel, independent living, and recreation/leisure.  Boswell School places a special emphasis on job training, indepennt living, and community-based instruction. This includes accessing local community colleges, vocational training at community job sites, and utilizing public transportation. In addition, enrichment course/clubs and entrepreneurial activities are available on campus.
