The ADOS-2 Refresher Workshop , offers a concise review for professionals who have previously completed the ADOS-2 Introductory Clinical Workshop. This virtual session reinforces administration and scoring skills through video observations, guided discussions, and scoring practice. Participants will revisit key concepts related to clinical interpretation and the psychometric properties of the ADOS-2 to strengthen reliability and confidence in using the tool.

PM. NCPI Refresher

Everyone who is certified in Non-Violent Crisis Intervention (NCPI) MUST attend a 3.5 hour refresher every 12 months in order to keep the certification active.  This is critical to maintain your skills and also very important for liability reasons.

Dress Code:  Wear comfortable clothing and tennis shoes.  No open toed shoes or sandals or you will NOT be allowed to participate. 

Please Be Prompt: Participants must be checked in prior to the 8am start time. Participants who arrive more than15 minutes after the training begins will NOT be admitted.
                                                                           

NOTE: The Ventura County SELPA is only authorized to certify employees of VC SELPA member school districts, charter schools, non-public schools, and approved contractors. We are not able to oversee the integrity of interventions provided by individuals who are not employed by these entities, nor can we ensure their participation in required annual refresher courses. For this reason, individuals who are not employed by a VC SELPA-affiliated agency are not eligible to attend this training.

UDL Trainer of Trainers Series

Designed to equip district teams with the tools and confidence to lead site-based implementation, the series promotes inclusive, learner-centered environments. Emphasis will be placed on supporting all students, with a focused lens on dually identified students, ensuring equitable access and meaningful learning for every learner.

What is UDL?
Universal Design for Learning (UDL) is an evidence-based framework that embraces learner variability and empowers educators to design flexible lessons. By removing barriers to learning, UDL increases student engagement, access, and achievement.

NCPI Level One

The techniques you will learn will focus on preventing risk behavior and safely managing physical crisis.  Training in these techniques will be required in order to correctly utilize "Emergency Behavior Interventions" outlined in the SELPA plan in compliance with California Code of Regulations – Title certification.  

This is a blended training. Participants are required to complete an online portion prior to attending the in-person training. If the online portion is not completed, participant will NOT be admitted to the in-person training. Participants must complete BOTH the online and the in-person training and pass a written examination in order to receive certification.

NOTE: The Ventura County SELPA is only authorized to certify employees of the SELPA districts, charter schools, nonpublic schools and contractors.  We are not able to oversee the integrity of the interventions utilized by persons who are not our employees.

VC SIS: Master Schedule Building Best Practices

Course Description

This course is the first session in a three-part master schedule training series and focuses on best practices for effective master schedule construction. Delivered in a virtual, asynchronous format, this session introduces proven scheduling approaches that can be applied across all student information systems.

Participants will learn core master scheduling concepts, terminology, and strategies that support equitable access to courses and help ensure student needs are met. Emphasis is placed on recognizing common scheduling challenges and applying best practice approaches that guide successful schedule development.

Topics may include:

  • Master schedule terminology and foundational concepts
  • Addressing potential conflicts with limited course offerings (singletons)
  • Balancing section sizes for multiple course offerings (doubletons and multiples)
  • Identifying and planning for scheduling constraints such as academies, block schedules, cycle days, team teaching, and other specialty programs

This session establishes a best-practice foundation that will support subsequent sessions focused on technical application.
