One hundred and thirty students from throughout Southern California participated in a regional VEX Robotic Competition last Saturday at the Ventura County Office of Education in Camarillo. Student-built robots faced off in a game called Spin Up where they shot discs into baskets to score points. Beyond the horror of the shooting itself, one of the most disturbing things about this incident is how little attention it received.
