Students at Phoenix Los Nogales School in Camarillo received a big surprise this morning as members of the Oxnard Police Department SWAT team brought them new shoes for the holidays. The students waited in anticipation as the SWAT team rolled up in an armored vehicle full of brightly colored packages. They were all smiles as they opened the boxes to find brand new athletic shoes along with t-shirts and gloves. The shoes were provided at a discount by New Balance and purchased by members of the SWAT team. This is the fifth year for the SWAT team shoe donation. Phoenix Los Nogales is a school for students with special behavioral needs that is operated by the Ventura County Office of Education.
