El Modelo de la Pirámide de Enseñanza es un marco de trabajo que promueve el desarrollo socioemocional de los niños pequeños y ayuda a prevenir conductas desafiantes mediante prácticas de apoyo basadas en relaciones positivas. Esta capacitación ofrece una visión general del Modelo de la Pirámide, incluyendo estrategias para fortalecer relaciones afectivas, crear entornos de aprendizaje de apoyo, enseñar habilidades socioemocionales y abordar conductas desafiantes de manera positiva y efectiva.

Los participantes obtendrán una comprensión de cómo el Modelo de la Pirámide apoya el bienestar emocional de los niños, la autorregulación y las interacciones positivas con compañeros y adultos. Se compartirán ejemplos prácticos y recursos para ayudar a los educadores a implementar estas estrategias en hogares de cuidado infantil familiar y otros entornos de aprendizaje temprano.

PSW Training: Dual Discrepancy/ Consistency and the X-Bass 3.0

During this session, participants will review information about the Dual Discrepancy/Consistency approach. Then, updated information will be shared regarding the 8 CHC broad ability areas and new optional areas as they relate to building an assessment battery. The majority of the training will be spent on exploration of the updated XBASS 3.0 software program as it relates to (1) entering data, (2) analyzing data for PSW purposes, and (3) the Culture-Language Interpretive Matrix (C-LIM). Participants are encouraged to have the XBASS 3.0 software program already downloaded onto their laptop for this training.

Positive Solutions for Families: Engaging Families with Teaching Pyramid Practices

The Center on the Social and Emotional Foundations for Early Learning (CSEFEL) has developed an evidence based, user-friendly parent training series to help professionals working with parents to promote positive and effective parenting behaviors to promote children’s social and
emotional development and address the challenging behavior.

3 one hour virtual follow up sessions will be offered October – December. Details to be shared at the August in-person workshop.

Early Start Meeting: Part C to B Interagency Collaboration

This is our annual meeting between Early Start Staff and school preschool staff regarding the transition from services under "Part C" of the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) to services under "Part B."  It is important that we meet regularly to discuss this process.  There are strict legal requirements that we work together to facilitate this transition within the timelines.

This meeting is mandatory for all Early Start Service Coordinators.  Every school district in the SELPA operating elementary school programs must also be represented.  Registrations will be monitored to make sure each district is represented.

ASPIRE funds are used to pay all associated participant fees for this Observer training ($900 value). Attendees must commit to attempting to pass certification testing within a 60-day window.

If you are unable to attend all sessions of a CLASS series: 

  • You may keep the provided materials and register for another offering of this event. Once registered, you must attend all parts of the offering (even if you have previously completed a portion of the training).
  • If you opt not to register for another offering, all materials must be returned to the ASPIRE Region C lead at sender's expense.

SLP Training in Supervision and Mentorship (Initial Six Hour Course)

Workshop for Speech-Language Pathologists (SLPs) who are Required Professional Experience (RPE) or Clinical Fellowship (CF) Supervisors or Supervising Speech Language Pathologist Assistants (SLPAs) or graduate students.

California State Board: A "Required Professional Experience (RPE)" Supervisor must have completed not less than six (6) hours of continuing professional development in supervision training prior to assuming responsibility as a RPE supervisor, and three (3) hours of continuing professional development in supervision training every four years thereafter. For supervision of a SLPA, the supervisor shall complete not less than six (6) hours of continuing professional development in supervision training in the initial two-year period from the commencement of supervision, and three (3) hours in supervision training of continuing professional development every two years thereafter. ASHA: Completion of a minimum of 2 hours of professional development in clinical instruction/supervision.

Learner outcomes:

  • State ASHA guidelines for Supervision of Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) and Speech Language Pathology Assistants (SLPA)
  • Describe regulations in California Code of Regulations for Supervision of Required Professional Experience (RPE).
  • Describe the continuum, styles and components of supervision
  • Demonstrate the principles of coaching and mentoring

This course is offered for a total of .6 ASHA CEUs (Related, Advanced). To receive ASHA CEUs you must complete and submit the Learner Outcomes, Intent to Change form and fee at the conclusion of the workshop. 

An Additional $5.00 fee will be charged onsite by the VC SELPA for participants who request we report attendance to the ASHA CE Registry.It is not collected by ASHA.

Desired Results Development Profile (DRDP) 2025 Training

Come learn more about the DRDP (2025) assessment tool that is designed for educators to observe, document, and reflect on children’s learning and development as well as plan individualized and group curriculum.

This in-person training is offered to any general education ECE educators who are interested in learning about the format of the DRDP, use of documentation and evidence to rate measures, and the importance of inter-rater reliability.
