It was a big day for the Ventura County Office of Education at the quarterly meeting of the California County Superintendents Educational Services Association (CCSESA). Our Deputy Superintendent of Student Services Dr. Roger Rice was honored with the Star Award for his service on the Student Programs and Services Steering Committee. At the same time, our Associate Superintendent of Educational Services Dr. Valerie Chrisman was honored with the Star Award for her work on the Curriculum and Instruction Steering Committee.
Drs. Chrisman and Rice were selected by their colleagues on their respective committees for the critical roles they have played achieving the committees' goals. VCOE is proud to be recognized for providing educational leadership at a statewide level.

The California County Superintendents Educational Services Association provides the organizational mechanism for the 58 County Superintendents of Schools to design and implement statewide programs to identify and promote quality cost-effective educational practices and services, and provide support to school districts in the areas of student services, curriculum and instructional services, fiscal accountability and business services, and technology and telecommunications.
